Systems Engineer - Senior

Experteer Overview As a Senior Systems Engineer at Peraton, you will design, integrate, and analyze complex NAS-centric systems to support FAA modernization efforts. You’ll work within a cross-functional team to drive architectures, trade studies, and system analyses that optimize performance and ensure compliance. You communicate findings through technical docs and briefings, supporting integration, testing, and system certification activities. This role offers impact on national airspace safety and collaboration with FAA stakeholders. You will contribute to NextGen and BNATCS modernization initiatives guiding the future of air traffic management. Compensation / Benefits * Perform end-to-end systems engineering across the full lifecycle (requirements, design, integration, verification, validation) * Drive concept development, architecture trade studies, and system analyses to optimize performance * Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet objectives and requirements * Prepare and deliver technical documentation, reports, and presentations * Contribute to trade studies and analyses under mentorship of senior engineers * Participate in system-level reviews and support integration and testing activities Tasks * U.S. Citizenship required * Ability to obtain/maintain a Public Trust clearance * Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of experience or Master’s with 6 years or Associate’s with 10 years or HS diploma with 12 years of experience * Systems engineering experience on complex, hardware and/or software systems * Full lifecycle SE activities: requirements, design, integration, V&V * Ability to conduct trade studies, system analyses, and performance evaluations * Experience developing and managing technical requirements, interfaces, and architecture documentation * Familiarity with NAS architecture, radar/surveillance systems, or air traffic management systems (preferred) * Experience with MBSE/SysML/DOORS/Cameo (preferred) * Knowledge of FAA modernization initiatives (NextGen) and safety-critical environments (preferred) * Professional certifications (INCOSE ASEP/CSEP, PMP) (preferred) * Degree in Systems Engineering or related discipline (preferred) Key requirements * salary range $112,000 - $179,000 * on-site work with flexible location * potential overtime and shift differential * discretionary bonus * career development opportunities * EEO and inclusive workplace
