The Senior Systems Engineer is responsible for design, analysis, configuration and maintenance of complex systems software solutions, based on a thorough knowledge of systems engineering and programming concepts and techniques. Systems software engineering/programming is a specialized area of software engineering/programming focused on software that operates/controls computer hardware and provides a platform for running end user applications. Includes operating systems, device drivers, utilities, and software; development tools (e.g., assemblers, compilers, etc.). The Senior Systems Engineer work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

The VxRail Senior Systems Engineer is responsible for supporting, maintaining, and implementing a variety of customer technologies and services. Makes decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments. Prior work experience administering medium or larger sized datacenter environments is preferred.

5 - 8 years as a Systems Engineer in design, analysis, configuration, and maintenance of complex systems software solutions, based on a thorough knowledge of systems engineering and programming concepts and techniques, Experience implementing full stack solutions that include servers, storage, virtualization platforms, and networking devices with a solid understanding of high availability and disaster recovery.

In addition to rack and stack experience in a datacenter, you must have extensive experience with Compute and Virtualization platforms such as VMware and Windows environments. You will have installed, maintained, and supported situation-critical platforms related to business workloads.

Experience managing Windows and VMware

Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation.

Ability to write scripts in some administrative language (e.g., PowerShell, Python, VBScript, Bash)

Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences

Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written and presentation, are necessary. Active listening skills are required.

Preferred Qualifications

BA Degree in a Technical Field

Experience with hyper-converged systems, such as: VxRail, Nutanix, Microsoft Hyper-V, etc.Familiar with cloud services such as AWS, Azure, Microsoft 365, or Google Apps.

Masters Degree in a Technical Field

Infrastructure Industry related Certification
