Job description

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Junior Full Stack Java Developer to join their development team in San Antonio, TX. The ideal candidate has 1-3 years of experience building web applications using Java, Python, and modern front-end technologies. This role offers the opportunity to work across the full software development lifecycle while collaborating with senior developers, architects, and business stakeholders., * Develop, test, and maintain full-stack web applications

  • Build backend services and RESTful APIs using Java and Python
  • Develop responsive user interfaces using modern JavaScript frameworks
  • Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following coding standards
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application issues
  • Participate in code reviews and Agile ceremonies
  • Work closely with QA, DevOps, business analysts, and product owners
  • Create technical documentation and support application deployments
  • Continuously learn new technologies and best practices

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 1-3 years of software development experience
  • Strong programming skills in Java
  • Experience developing applications with Python
  • Experience with Spring Boot
  • Experience building REST APIs
  • Experience with HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript
  • Experience with React, Angular, or Vue.js
  • Knowledge of SQL and relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server)
  • Familiarity with Git and version control
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Preferred:

  • Experience with Hibernate/JPA
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform)
  • Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI)
  • Knowledge of microservices architecture
  • Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB
  • Experience writing automated unit tests using JUnit or PyTest

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with cloud-native applications
  • Exposure to Agile/Scrum development
  • Understanding of security best practices (OAuth, JWT, API security)
  • Internship or project experience developing enterprise applications

Ideal Candidate:

  • 1-3 years of full-stack development experience
  • Strong Java development skills with hands-on Python experience
  • Comfortable working on both front-end and back-end development
  • Eager to learn from senior engineers and contribute to enterprise applications
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
