Experteer Overview As a Staff Hardware Engineer, you will own sensor selection and safety compliance for MW/MWh-scale inverter and BESS solutions, collaborating with mechanical and embedded firmware teams. You’ll drive hardware designs across power, sensing, and cooling systems to meet safety, performance, and cost targets, delivering production-ready solutions from concept to deployment. The role blends hardware, thermal, and electrical engineering to support utility-scale energy products for data centers. You will shape platform-level designs and mentor engineers, contributing to a sustainable energy future. Compensation / Benefits * Design power supplies and related logic for Battery systems * Develop sensor solutions for utility-scale systems across cooling methods * Collaborate in cross-functional teams including system integration and inverter hardware engineers * Specify, design, and debug sensor circuits for high-voltage DC/AC interconnections * Generate platform-level design ideas and support architecture and cost-reduction efforts * Lead safety and thermal requirements for BESS applications (UL and IEC) * Define engineering requirements, test plans, and proofs of concept * Mentor junior engineers and guide PCB layout and compliance engineers * Engage with internal technical communities and contribute to knowledge sharing Tasks * B.E. in Electrical Engineering with 8+ years of experience, or Master’s in Electrical Engineering with 6+ years * Proven track record integrating sensor solutions in commercial/industrial products * Strong analytical tolerance and worst-case analysis, DPPM, DFMEA/AFMEA, and root-cause analysis * Knowledge of circuit schematics, multi-layer PCB layout, EMI, and simulation tools * Inverter standards knowledge (UL1741, IEC 62109) * Experience with LTspice, MATLAB/Simulink, PLECS * Experience with PLM tools (Arena or Agile) for ECO, DEV, ECR, and BOM management * Hands-on Python and embedded software for inverter controls in test automation * Demonstrated technical leadership and mentoring abilities Key requirements * bonus * equity * benefits * competitive pay * on-site role in Austin
