Job Description SummaryThe Wind Engineering Advanced Systems team oversees the global wind technology roadmap, technology portfolio, and conceptual turbine design. As Systems Conceptual Design Engineer you are part of a conceptual design team that is running turbine and blade designs, value and risk assessment at the very early design stage for product design and product strategy decisions.Job DescriptionEssential ResponsibilitiesNext Gen turbine designsBuild new turbine topology Simpack models and run associated loads and AEP simulations and optimizations for platform evolutions and new turbine designs.Run new blade conceptual designs.Run cost estimates, transportability and installability assessments.Summarize findings within value and risk assessments.Technology pipelineBe engaged and support the advancements of the MGTP (Multi Generation Technology Roadmap)Proactively connect with NTIs, run new technology value assessments on system level.Support and connect dots between subsystem concept designs.Conceptual design methods and tools developmentRun and lead the code development for the conceptual design tool suite across all fidelity levels … from derivatives to unsteady full degree of freedom multibody simulation.RequirementsBachelor Degree in Engineering.Significant experience in wind turbine systems design, first level loads and value trade-off studies.Significant experience in wind turbine multi body simulations.Desired CharacteristicsDemonstrated experience in engineering software development,C++, Python, GUI Frameworks (PyQt), software implementation in SDM.Ability to efficiently set-up and run simulations in SDMAbility to optimize wind turbine operability through controls parameter tuning.Deep technical knowledge of GE Vernova Wind platforms including main subsystems features and limitations.Strong oral and written communication skillsStrong interpersonal skills, strong network within the wind engineering organization, ability to easily connect across teams and disciplines.Additional InformationRelocation Assistance Provided:No

Requirements

Bachelor Degree in Engineering. Significant experience in wind turbine systems design, first level loads and value trade-off studies. Significant experience in wind turbine multi body simulations. Ability to efficiently set-up and run simulations in SDM Ability to optimize wind turbine operability through controls parameter tuning.
