Job description

The IT shipboard Project Manager will report directly to the Program Manager however will be in a flex role were he or she will primarily deliver on Planning activities however may be asked to manage a Dry Dock as well.

Requirements

Travel is REQUIRED at least 50% TRavel….MUST HAVE A VALID PASSPORT, The primary responsibility of the team is to execute planning of large-scale IT operational fleet projects (shipboard) from inception through hand over to Deployment Team who will execute the deployment. They will be required to coordinate cross-team efforts, manage business and IT expectations, scope definition, scope management and documentation budget validation and procurement, design conversations and sign-off. Communicate with senior management in the discussion and formal presentation format. The ability to define and drive project schedules, manage vendors, align the project goals with IT strategic technology and process goals. If asked to support Deployment, PM will be responsible for the planning and delivery of all IT scope for a respective Dry Dock. Required Education: -PMP preferred but not required -Previous shipboard experience a plus -Large complex project experience Required Skills: An understanding of project methodology in a waterfall environment. A good understanding of Enterprise Technologies and their application, very good communication skills including but not limited to business presentations, issue resolution and communicating the same message to large teams. Candidate should have a go getter attitude and be willing to learn a complex scope package. Candidate should also have experience in procurement, and lead by example within the IT Culture based environment. Ability to travel. (Able to lift 15 pounds) -PMP preferred but not required -Previous shipboard experience a plus -Large complex project experience -IT Networking Project experience Desired Skills: Project Management Methodologies MS Projects or similar tools Problem solving Issue Resolution Understanding of Enterprise Technologies and their application Good communication skills including but not limited to business presentations, and communicating to a large audience. HR skills include Team building, performance evaluations, coaching, performance & problem solving. Lead by example within the IT Culture based environment. PMP preferred but not required Previous shipboard experience a plus Large complex project experience IT Networking Project experience Required Years of Experience -Project Management 3-5 Standard work week: Our normal business hours are 9 am - 5 pm M-F. All candidates must be available to work those hours. Some weekend and overtime work may be required.
