Job description

The Senior DevOps Engineer will be responsible for leading the creation and implementation of automated pipelines and deployment processes. This role will drive the development and implementation of DevOps practices and strategies, aligning with the company’s architectural vision and strategic goals. The engineer will work collaboratively across multiple teams to manage code releases and deployments, enhancing the efficiency, reliability, and scalability of the development and deployment processes., * Develop and implement DevOps strategies focused on automation, continuous integration, continuous delivery, and operational excellence.

  • Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines using tools like Harness, GitHub, and Jenkins.
  • Handle DevOps emergencies and support issues as they arise, working with teams to figure out solutions.
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement technical enhancements to improve time to recovery and system uptime.
  • Contribute actively to team meetings and collaborate on problem-solving.
  • Support the crew technology application, which is used by over 50,000 internal users.
  • Work closely with development, QA, and operations teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery of software products.
  • Integrate security best practices into the DevOps processes, ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Experience: 5+ years of experience in DevOps or related roles with a proven track record of successfully implementing DevOps practices in complex environments.

Technical Skills:

  • Experience with CI/CD tools, particularly Harness, GitHub, and Jenkins.
  • Proficiency with cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as CloudFormation or Terraform.
  • Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools, with a focus on DynaTrace.
  • Strong problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills to resolve issues and implement solutions.
  • Knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation tasks.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Extensive experience with AWS.
  • Hands-on experience with Splunk.
  • Proficiency with shell scripting.
  • Exposure to .NET and Angular code.
  • Background in application support.

Benefits & conditions

This position offers a partial remote work arrangement, requiring 1-2 days onsite in either Chicago or Houston, with the potential for up to 4 days. Expected working hours are 8 AM to 5 PM CT. Daily stand-up meetings are held at 10:30 AM CT for remote team members.
