Job description
Experteer Overview In this role, you will foster scalable, resilient distributed systems within our CAD Infrastructure Development group. You will drive platform capabilities, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and help engineers deliver reliable, high-performance services at scale. You’ll work on cloud-native architectures, event-driven platforms, and Kubernetes-based patterns to empower product teams. Your work will shape platform reliability, development velocity, and the overall quality of our engineering ecosystem. This is a high-visibility opportunity to influence architecture decisions and mentor peers while solving complex systems challenges. Compensation / Benefits * Contribute to the development of distributed systems and microservices architectures * Collaborate with product and engineering teams to implement scalable, event-driven platforms * Build and maintain platform infrastructure that enables reliable, performant services at scale * Work with Kubernetes-native patterns, operators, CRDs, and service meshes * Improve system reliability and development velocity through design and implementation * Mentor engineers and drive consensus on cross-cutting technical decisions * Support software architecture and system design, including microservices decomposition and contracts * Apply DevOps and CI/CD practices (GitOps-friendly) to platform services Tasks * Experience architecting large-scale systems with Kubernetes-native patterns (operators, CRDs, service mesh) * Proficiency with message queues/streaming platforms (Kafka, RabbitMQ, NATS, Pulsar) * Strong understanding of distributed systems (consistency, fault tolerance, partitioning) * API design across REST, gRPC, and event-driven interfaces * Infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform or Pulumi) * GitOps workflows and progressive delivery practices * Observability and reliability engineering (SLOs, tracing, circuit breakers) * Mentorship and ability to build consensus across teams on technical decisions * Experience in backend or systems languages (Go, Java, Python) * Experience with container orchestration (Kubernetes) * Event-driven architectures and asynchronous communication * Software quality methodologies (design/code reviews, testing strategies) * BS + 10 years of relevant industry experience with ownership of architecture Key requirements *
