Job description
The Squires Group is seeking an Appian Security Business Analyst to support security testing and remediation efforts for an Appian-based process automation solution. This role will work closely with developers and security stakeholders to identify security gaps, validate solutions, and help ensure applications meet security and compliance requirements.
This position is based in northern Virginia, and candidates must be local for occasional onsite presence. Per our Federal Government contract, candidates must be U.S. Citizens with an active Secret Clearance.
Responsibilities
- Review applications and processes to identify potential security gaps and vulnerabilities.
- Collaborate with developers to document, prioritize, and resolve security findings.
- Participate in testing activities to validate remediation efforts and confirm issue resolution.
- Analyze security requirements and translate them into actionable user stories and testing scenarios.
- Support cybersecurity assessments and compliance-related activities.
- Work closely with functional, development, and security teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and validation procedures.
- Document findings, recommendations, and test results.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and reviews.
- Assist with process improvement initiatives related to application security and testing.
Requirements
- Active Secret Security Clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or a related field; equivalent experience considered.
- 3+ years of experience supporting cybersecurity, application testing, business analysis, or related activities.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, security controls, and vulnerability remediation processes.
- Experience participating in application testing, quality assurance, or validation efforts.
- Experience gathering and documenting requirements, user stories, and test cases.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting software development or process automation initiatives.
- Experience with security assessments, ATO support activities, or compliance documentation.
- Familiarity with Appian or other low-code development platforms.
- Experience supporting federal government programs.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and best practices.
Benefits & conditions
- W2 Hourly rate starts at $61. Pay rates are based on experience, qualifications, and location, and are subject to change at any time.
