Systems Administrator Senior

Experteer Overview In this role you will support, design, and sustain secure internal and external networks for DoD/Space Systems contexts. You work closely with cross-functional teams to implement and manage systems, applications, and security configurations, with a strong focus on Linux/RHEL administration. You will help ensure compliant, high-availability environments and apply risk management practices in IL4+ networks. This is a mission-driven role offering hands-on technical challenge and opportunities to influence secure, scalable network operations. Compensation / Benefits * Maintain and monitor internal and external networks and related systems * Implement and manage security and network configurations across Linux/RHEL and Windows environments * Provide user support and technical guidance in a high-performance team * Manage RBAC and STIG policies for RHEL systems * Develop and use Ansible playbooks (YAML) for automation * Work with Cisco networking equipment, virtualization, and LAN/WAN technologies * Support data backups and communication security (COMSEC) policy integration * Apply Risk Management Framework to network/information system environments * Operate in DoD policy context for system/network administration and IL4+ environments * Participate in and support DoD/USSF defensive cyber operations * Adapt to travel (~<10%) and Colorado Springs work location * Possibly collaborate across Space Systems Command initiatives Tasks * 10+ years of relevant experience with a Masters degree OR 18+ years with a Bachelor’s degree OR 25+ years with an Associate’s degree * Strong Linux/RHEL system administration * Windows desktop and server knowledge * RBAC and STIG policy management for RHEL * Proficient with Ansible and YAML * Working knowledge of Cisco networking, switching, and virtualization * Virtualization experience in user environments and network appliances * Knowledge of LAN/WAN technologies and data backup * COMSEC policy concepts and integration * Experience with IL4+ network environments and DoD policy * Risk Management Framework (RMF) application experience * Scripting in Bash and Python * Relevant DoD/Space Systems Command experience and Defensive Cyber Operations * 1+ Cyber/Sys Admin certification (Security+, Linux, Red Hat, AWS Cloud, CCNA or DoD 8140) * Colorado Springs location with limited remote work and travel requirements Key requirements *
