Experteer Overview In this role you will lead a large engineering organization responsible for reference architectures, engineering standards, and platform capabilities across software, data, and AI foundations. You’ll drive adoption of scalable, cloud-native solutions and personally validate major architectural decisions with hands-on pilots. You’ll mentor senior engineers and leaders, partnering with product, data, AI/ML, security, and infrastructure teams to align delivery with long-term business goals. This position combines strategic guidance with practical engineering oversight to enable enterprise-scale, reliable platforms. Compensation / Benefits * Design and implement reference architectures and platform capabilities for software, data, and AI foundations (including AI-ready data layer) * Translate and operationalize modern tech trends and architectural patterns across the organization * Validate major architectural decisions through hands-on pilots before production rollout * Lead, grow, and mentor a large organization of senior software and data engineers and leaders * Build high-throughput, cloud-native infrastructure and data pipelines for large-scale workloads * Collaborate with product, data, AI/ML, security, and infrastructure leaders to align engineering with business goals * Establish and enforce engineering standards for observability, scalability, and consistency across multiple teams Tasks * 15+ years in software/data engineering, distributed systems, or related fields with progressive leadership * 10+ years building and operating production software/data platforms with large-scale workloads * 10+ years programming experience (Python, Java, Go, SQL) and hands-on contribution * 10+ years driving technology adoption and architectural modernization with cross-functional leaders * 7+ years designing/operating modern data platforms (Spark/Flink, Kafka/Kinesis, Airflow, Snowflake/Databricks/BigQuery) * 7+ years in senior technology leadership roles leading large multi-team organizations * 5+ years building/operating cloud-native solutions (AWS/Azure/GCP) with focus on reliability, security, observability, cost * 3+ years designing/scaling AI-powered systems (RAG, embeddings, vector databases, model-serving) * Proven experience influencing executives and delivering measurable business outcomes * Ability to work onsite in Minneapolis, MN Key requirements * comprehensive benefits package * equity stock purchase * 401k contribution * incentive programs * career development opportunities * competitive compensation
