Job description

We are looking for a Senior Oracle PL/SQL Developer with 13+ years of experience in Oracle database development, ETL processes, and legacy application modernization using COBOL. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in designing high-performance database solutions, developing complex PL/SQL programs, building ETL workflows, and supporting enterprise applications. Experience working in Banking, Financial Services, Insurance, or Healthcare domains is highly preferred., * Design, develop, and maintain complex Oracle PL/SQL packages, procedures, functions, triggers, and views.

  • Develop high-performance SQL queries and optimize existing database objects.
  • Design and support ETL processes for extracting, transforming, and loading large volumes of data.
  • Develop data migration and data conversion solutions between legacy and modern systems.
  • Analyze and support legacy COBOL applications while integrating with Oracle databases.
  • Perform SQL and PL/SQL performance tuning using Explain Plans, AWR Reports, SQL Trace, and Oracle optimization techniques.
  • Develop database deployment scripts and support release management.
  • Work closely with Business Analysts, Architects, QA teams, and DBAs to deliver scalable solutions.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and provide root cause analysis.
  • Create technical documentation, code reviews, and mentor junior developers.

Requirements

  • 13+ years of hands-on experience in Oracle SQL and PL/SQL development.
  • Strong expertise in Oracle Database (11g/12c/19c or higher).
  • Advanced knowledge of:
  • PL/SQL Packages

  • Triggers
  • Views
  • Cursors
  • Collections
  • Dynamic SQL
  • Exception Handling
  • Strong SQL query optimization and performance tuning.
  • Hands-on experience with ETL development, data mapping, transformation, validation, and data migration.
  • Experience with ETL tools such as Informatica PowerCenter, IBM DataStage, Oracle Data Integrator (ODI), SSIS, Talend, or similar.
  • Strong experience in COBOL programming, maintenance, debugging, and integration with Oracle databases.
  • Experience working with JCL, VSAM, CICS, DB2, or Mainframe environments is highly preferred.
  • Experience with SQL Loader, Oracle Data Pump, and Shell Scripting (Unix/Linux).
  • Knowledge of Oracle Scheduler and batch processing.
  • Experience with Git, SVN, or other version control tools.
  • Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Oracle Forms & Reports.
  • Knowledge of Oracle APEX.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
  • Experience with REST APIs and database integration.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
  • Knowledge of Data Warehousing, Dimensional Modeling, and Data Lakes.
  • Experience with Python or Java for automation is an added advantage., * Bachelor’’s or Master’’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Oracle Certification (OCP/OCA) is preferred.
  • Mainframe or COBOL certification is a plus.
