Job description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced PL/SQL Developer with exposure to cloud platforms (AWS or Azure) to build, optimize, and maintain high-performance database solutions., PL/SQL Development Design, develop, and maintain complex PL/SQL packages, procedures, functions, and triggers. Write efficient, scalable, and reusable database code. Develop and optimize complex SQL queries for large-scale data processing and reporting. Troubleshoot and resolve database-related performance and production issues.
Database Design & Performance Optimization Collaborate with architects and DBAs on data modeling, schema design, and indexing strategies. Perform advanced query tuning using explain plans and performance tools. Optimize database workloads for high-volume and high-throughput systems. Ensure data consistency, integrity, and performance across systems.
Cloud Integration (AWS / Azure) Work with databases deployed on cloud platforms (AWS RDS, Aurora, Azure SQL, Oracle on Cloud). Support migration of on-prem databases to cloud environments. Optimize database workloads for cloud performance, scalability, and cost efficiency. Integrate PL/SQL-based systems with cloud services, APIs, and data pipelines. Collaborate with cloud engineers on architecture and deployment strategies. Data Processing & ETL Develop and maintain ETL processes, batch jobs, and data pipelines. Handle large datasets efficiently in both on-premises and cloud environments. Support data transformation, ingestion, and reporting needs.
Quality & Standards Follow best practices for coding, version control, and documentation. Conduct self-reviews and participate in peer code reviews. Ensure compliance with performance, security, and data governance standards.
Collaboration Partner with business analysts, application teams, and cloud architects to deliver solutions. Participate in technical design discussions and provide database expertise. Support testing, deployment, and release cycles.
Production Support Provide L2/L3 support for database and data-related issues. Diagnose and resolve performance bottlenecks and failures. Monitor systems and proactively improve stability and efficiency.
Requirements
This is a hands-on individual contributor role requiring deep expertise in Oracle PL/SQL along with the ability to work in modern cloud-enabled data environments., Bachelor s degree in computer science, IT, or related field. 7 12+ years of strong hands-on Oracle PL/SQL development experience.
Deep expertise in: PL/SQL (packages, procedures, functions, triggers) Advanced SQL and performance tuning Oracle Database (11g/12c/19c or higher) Cloud Requirements (Must Have / Strongly Preferred)
Hands-on experience with: Oracle Autonomous Data Warehouse (ADW) on Azure Amazon Redshift
Strong understanding of: Cloud-based data warehousing architectures Performance tuning in ADW and Redshift environments Workload management, query optimization, and storage strategies in cloud DW platforms Experience in: Managing and optimizing cloud data processing for scalability and cost efficiency
Familiarity with: Azure ecosystem (e.g., networking, security, integration with ADW) AWS ecosystem (e.g., S3, IAM, data ingestion into Redshift)
Preferred Skills Experience with data warehousing and large-scale data processing. Knowledge of performance tuning tools (AWR, ASH, SQL Trace). Familiarity with Unix/Linux shell scripting. Experience with ETL frameworks/tools. Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices. Experience with version control tools (Git).
