Lead Application Architect/GCP

Experteer Overview As Lead Architect, you define and deliver end-to-end solution architecture for complex client and internal initiatives, guiding multiple teams toward scalable, secure, and maintainable cloud solutions. You stay close to code, validate architectural decisions, and establish engineering guardrails to ensure architectural quality and strong production outcomes. You engage with executive stakeholders, mentor engineers, and drive modernization programs in a hands-on, collaborative environment. Compensation / Benefits * Advise client executives on technical strategy, cloud economics, and modernization roadmaps * Assess legacy portfolios and define migration/refactoring strategies for GCP * Define and govern scalable, secure distributed architectures and data flows * Lead architecture reviews, document decisions and debt mitigation strategies * Write code for prototypes/PoCs and critical paths to stay hands-on * Define and enforce API design, testing, CI/CD, IaC, and secure-by-default blueprints * Ensure production-readiness with observability, resilience, and incident response * Support practice growth with pre-sales collaboration and effort estimation * Mentor senior engineers and client technical teams to foster engineering excellence Tasks * 15+ years software development experience * 12+ years hands-on Java experience * 5+ years in designing/migrating/operating production workloads on GCP * 5+ years in client-facing Lead Architect or Practice Architect roles * Strong experience with Java frameworks (Spring/Spring Boot), REST/microservices * Experience with distributed, highly available systems * Relational and NoSQL databases, messaging, integration patterns * Proven ability to define and enforce quality strategies across teams * Hands-on prototyping and deep code review experience * Relevant cloud/architecture certifications a plus Key requirements * Medical, Dental, and Vision * 401(k) retirement plan with pre-tax and Roth options * Life Insurance and AD&D * Short and Long-Term Disability * HSA * Paid time off and sick leave
