Senior Spacecraft Design Engineer in Redondo Beach

Job DescriptionJob DescriptionDescriptionImpulse is developing a variety of liquid propulsion systems and looking for design engineers who will contribute to critical development projects. As a Sr. Fluid Systems Engineer, you will be part of the Propulsion Engineering organization and own all aspects of propulsion system layout of a high-performance spacecraft, from concept to product realization, while working with a fast-paced, agile team. Responsibilities

• Layout complex and highly integrated fluid and mechanical systems
• Own all aspects of component design from concept to product realization
• Generate detailed CAD models and manufacturing drawings
• Perform fluid, thermal, and structural analysis as required
• Work with internal and external sources to procure materials, fabricate parts, and complete assemblies
• Resolve technical issues with innovative and resourceful solutions

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field
• 5+ years of demonstrated, hands-on experience in designing complex, high-pressure, high-performance fluid and mechanical systems
• 5+ years of hands-on experience working with fluid, electrical and mechanical systems
• Proficiency in creating engineering drawings and 3D CAD models with GD&T (ASME Y14.5)
• Demonstrated ability in requirements definition, conceptual design, procurement, fabrication, assembly and testing of hardware

Skills and Experience

• 5+ years of demonstrated experience in designing and delivering flight propulsion components for high-pressure, and high-performance applications
• Experience with in-space propulsion components
• Experience with Siemens NX
• Strong project management skills and effective communication of technical concepts across multi-disciplinary teams
• Experience in a startup or agile development environment

• Flexible schedule and willing to travel as needed

Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity. In addition to base salary, for full-time hires, you may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of stock options, and access to medical, vision & dental coverage as well as access to a 401(k) retirement plan.
