This role prioritizes project delivery and engineering capacity while keeping the individual connected to operations and on-call. It is intentionally designed to strengthen execution bandwidth for the team’s highest-priority work without creating near-term coverage gaps. If you enjoy owning meaningful delivery outcomes, applying solid engineering judgment, and supporting a high-performing operations team, this position is built for that balance.

Our Team

The Infrastructure Security Firewalls Service is a global team responsible for the design, operation, and continuous improvement of critical network security infrastructure that protects Koch companies. We support both enterprise Perimeter security and Process Control Network (PCN/OT) environments across multiple business units. Our work directly enables safe, reliable operations and business growth while managing risk., * Participate in project-driven firewall engineering work, including design, configuration, testing, and implementation for priority initiatives (Molex growth, global sites, new builds, and major changes).

  • Partner in delivery of complex rule packages, access designs, and security configurations with high quality, clear documentation, and strong stakeholder communication.
  • Partner with application teams, site contacts, and other infrastructure teams to translate business requirements into secure, reliable network security solutions.
  • Contribute engineering judgment and technical leadership on firewall architecture, standards, and best practices within the service.
  • Support day-to-day operations including break/fix, troubleshooting, monitoring, and compliance activities for Palo Alto (Perimeter) and FortiGate (PCN/OT) environments.
  • Execute and help manage the flow of standard rule changes and access requests to maintain delivery throughput.
  • Participate in a sustainable on-call rotation and help improve response quality and knowledge sharing across the team.
  • Identify practical opportunities to improve delivery processes, documentation, and operational efficiency.
  • Share knowledge, mentor peers where appropriate, and help reduce risk of knowledge silos.
  • Apply Principle Based Management principles-focusing on value creation, customer focus, and stewardship-in daily decisions and interactions.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience supporting complex enterprise network security environments, including firewalls (Palo Alto and/or Fortinet preferred).
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver project-based and engineering work (design, configuration, implementation) in addition to operational support.
  • Experience with network protocols and concepts (TCP/IP, routing, VPN, proxy, segmentation)
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels
  • Willingness and ability to participate in an on-call rotation.

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Direct experience with Palo Alto Networks (NGFW, Panorama, Prisma, GlobalProtect) and/or Fortinet (FortiGate, FortiManager) in enterprise or OT environments.
  • Track record of successfully delivering network security projects or complex change packages from design through implementation.
  • Experience supporting Process Control Network / OT security environments or industrial environments.
  • Familiarity with observability tools (Grafana, Splunk, or equivalent), SD-WAN, Cisco ISE, or related secure connectivity technologies.
  • Practical experience improving delivery processes or reducing friction in operational workflows.
  • Relevant certifications (PCNSE, NSE, CISSP, or equivalent) are a plus.
