Principal Developer Relations Engineer

Experteer Overview As a Principal Developer Relations Engineer, you drive the use of Workday’s developer platform by external and internal communities. You’ll enable frontline engineers and partners to adopt AI-enabled capabilities, shaping how agents and agentic apps are built. You’ll lead early adopter programs, create practical samples and demos, and deliver enablement across teams and events. You join a hands-on, collaborative culture to accelerate a responsible AI-driven developer ecosystem and help customers succeed. Compensation / Benefits * Enable Frontline Engineers and other roles on current and new Developer Platform capabilities with emphasis on AI features * Lead and support Early Adopter programs across multiple teams to validate features in real-world environments * Ensure EA participants receive enablement and produce actionable product feedback and customer success stories * Guide developers on integrating agents, agentic apps, integrations, and AI tooling within open, flexible development models * Build and maintain technical samples, frameworks, and demos (Extend, Orchestrate, Data Cloud, custom agents, agentic apps, AI tooling) * Create guided activities and hands-on content for Express Labs, Very Live Demos, DevCon, Rising, and Hackathons * Present on Developer Deep Dive calls, contribute to Developer Forums, and lead enablement sessions for sales, services, and customer-facing teams Tasks * 10+ years in developer relations, developer enablement, technical consulting, platform engineering, or related field * Hands-on experience applying AI-powered tools within developer workflows * Skilled communicator able to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences * Experience managing inter-group relationships with product, engineering, sales, and services * Forward-looking, analytical mindset with ability to derive insights about the developer ecosystem * Creative and resourceful, open to exploring new tools, ideas, and approaches * Empathetic to developer experience with strong listening and feedback shaping abilities * Highly organized and able to manage multiple projects and priorities * Excellent written and verbal communication for creating samples, demos, and documentation Key requirements * workplace flexibility (flexible work arrangement) * bonus plan or commission potential * annual refresh stock grants * base salary ranges listed by location * supportive culture with growth and learning opportunities * inclusive hiring and accessibility commitments
