Job description

Performs data analytics and analysis utilizing Excel, SQL and/or SAS to ensure accurate pay in accordance with the crew’s collective bargaining agreement (CBA). Responsible for planning, overall coordination, status reporting and stability of complex and cross-functional project-oriented work efforts. May influence others within the job area through explanation of facts, policies and practices. Works independently, work is evaluated upon completion to ensure objectives have been achieved., * Manages multiple projects simultaneously. Leads project activities through meeting facilitation, managing project scope, and communicating progress.

  • Audits all crew compensation activity pertaining to credit hours that are processed for payment, ensuring compliance with federal aviation regulations (FARs) and the crew’s CBA.
  • Performs analysis and complete tests of SOX controls and compliance in accordance with internal and external audits.
  • Provides accurate and timely accounting of the crews’ credit hours to the payroll department. Audits, maintains, and reconciles the crews’ sick and vacation banks to ensure compliance with the CBA.
  • Perform project management oversight, testing, and analysis to ensure accurate accounting of systems.
  • Develop and maintain Department operation procedures.
  • Reporting data analysis and findings to Finance, Retirement, and Payroll Departments.
  • Strong technical acumen with the ability to understand, learn and master many different diverse technologies used across the enterprise, work with minimal supervision, and the ability to work closely with business and technical resources.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in business, Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, or related quantitative discipline.

Minimum Experience: Four (4) years’ experience required in automated compensation systems, financial and operational analysis, and/or computerized crew management systems with at least two (2) of those years working as a compensation professional or an equivalent analytical role. Knowledge of Excel, SAS and/or SQL to develop complex calculations and/or queries to track, control, and substantiate incoming data.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of pilot’s collective bargaining agreement and duty time regulations
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, statistical, human relations skills to work on issues of diverse scope.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary to facilitate training or information sessions to groups/individuals and/or explain complex or confidential information with the ability to interact with all levels of management and employees.
  • Time management, organizational and multi-tasking skills necessary to manage multiple projects, appropriately prioritize workload, plan for resources to meet deadlines, work in a fast-paced environment, handling various tasks and changing priorities, while maintaining a high attention to detail and accuracy to achieve daily assignments and goals.

Preferred Qualifications: Emphasis in Finance or Accounting, with demonstrated ability to apply cross-functional organizational and contractual knowledge in a complex operational environment. This includes collaboration across departments such as Payroll, HR, , Finance, IT, and Operations; interpreting and applying contractual (CBA) provisions; partnering with system and data teams to support payroll processing and reporting; and effectively communicating financial impacts and requirements to stakeholders.
