Satellite Platform System Engineer

We are a Spain-based space engineering company working across satellite communications systems and software, with customers throughout the European Union. We are starting a new LEO constellation programme and we need someone to own the platform.

You will be the person who ensure and knows, at any given moment, whether the design still closes - in mass, power, propellant, pointing, thermal, data and reliability - and what has to change when it does not.

You will:

• Own the platform technical budgets through the full lifecycle, and the margin philosophy behind them
• Define the platform architecture and flow requirements down to AOCS, EPS, propulsion, thermal, structures, avionics and TT&C
• Control the platform-to-payload and platform-to-launcher interfaces
• Lead the architecture trades: propulsion technology, power architecture, redundancy philosophy
• Drive design for serial production - a bus that works once but cannot be built two hundred times is not a design we can use
• Define the model philosophy and verification approach, and support the test campaigns

• an MSc in aerospace, mechanical or electrical engineering;
• 5-8+ years in platform or satellite system engineering;
• at least one programme carried through a full design cycle; real ownership of technical budgets;
• broad understanding of every subsystem and genuine depth in one; and practical knowledge of ECSS and how to tailor it.
• Small satellite, LEO or serial production experience is a strong plus, as is electric propulsion.

The position is permanent and full-time. Be ready to enjoy working in Madrid, but also to travel from time to time across Europe and overseas.

Working language is English. Spanish is very much welcome but not a strict must.
