Job Description Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and reliable Network Support Engineer to provide onsite network support services in Rota, Cádiz, Spain.The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining network infrastructure while ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime.This role requires excellent technical expertise, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently in a customer-facing environment.Key Responsibilities Provide first and second-level support for network-related incidents and service requests.Troubleshoot issues related to IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and network routing.Configure and support routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.Monitor network performance and respond to alerts or outages.Maintain ticket updates and documentation for all reported incidents.Work with internal IT teams to resolve complex issues.Assist with network maintenance, upgrades, and implementation projects.Ensure timely communication on issue status and resolution.Requirements 1-3 years experience in network support or a similar role.Understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching, DNS, and DHCP.Experience with Cisco or similar networking equipment.Familiarity with network monitoring tools and ticketing systems.Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Relevant certifications such as CCNA or CompTIA Network+ are an advantage.Basic understanding of Windows server environments and Active Directory is an advantage.Requirements Engineer pre-requisites/Tools needed The engineer will need: * a laptop running Microsoft Operating system (minimum Windows 11 but subject to change * Console Cable * a terminal emulator program.(recommended ones are Putty or TeraTerm or Poderosa) * Serial Port (either built-in to the laptop or USB adapter) * Networking support knowledge obtained in the field and appropriate OEM device specific training and certification needed to work on the OEM products.* Teams or Webex applications for connection with Customer network NOC if required * Engineering tool kit.Benefits Preferred Certifications Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) CompTIA Network+ Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) (Preferred) Aruba Certified Associate (ACA) (Optional) Requirements Physical onsite assistance to enable remote troubleshooting and remediation.Console connectivity to network devices (switch/router/firewall) as instructed by the Remote Support Team.Providing physical access support to the Remote Support Team (e.g., opening racks, locating devices/ports, power cycling per instruction).Visual verification and reporting (LED status, link status, alarms, fan/power status, cabling condition).Engineer must have basic understanding of network devices sufficient to: Identify network equipment types, ports, power supplies, uplinks, and patch panel layouts.Follow remote instructions accurately (step-by-step) without deviating from approved runbooks.Perform basic checks: link lights, port mapping verification, cable reseat, label verification.Network Device Rack
Requirements
