AI Engineer

Experteer Overview As AI Engineer at The AA, you will design, build and operate production-grade AI solutions that power services for members and frontline teams. You’ll own technical delivery from discovery to production, applying robust engineering practices and collaborating across product, data and engineering teams. This role focuses on Generative AI, Large Language Models and agentic systems to scale intelligent, safe solutions. You’ll join a newly established AI function within the COO to drive responsible AI delivery and impactful outcomes. Pay / Benefits * Design, build, test and operate production-ready AI and ML applications (incl. Generative AI, LLMs, agentic AI) * Develop clean, maintainable Python backends, APIs and cloud-native AI apps * Take technical ownership from discovery to production * Turn complex problems into practical technical solutions with evidence-based trade-offs * Apply engineering practices across testing, CI/CD, containerisation, deployment, monitoring and MLOps/LLMOps * Collaborate with product, data, engineering and stakeholders to support responsible AI delivery (security, governance, performance monitoring) Tasks * Strong production Python engineering skills * Experience in AI/ML engineering or AI-focused software engineering with production deployments * Experience taking AI/ML capabilities beyond PoC (deployment, monitoring, failure handling) * Strong software/backend engineering fundamentals for reliable APIs/services * Ability to work independently through ambiguity and make sound technical decisions * Experience with Generative AI, LLMs, RAG, agentic systems and communicating trade-offs Key requirements * Annual bonus * Cash-car allowance * Private medical insurance * 25 days annual leave + holidays * Worksave pension with employer contributions * AA breakdown membership from Day 1 + family discount
