Job description

At SCP Infrastructure & Design, an RSK Group company, we are looking for an experienced Senior Engineer to play a key role in delivering high-quality highways and drainage solutions across a diverse portfolio of infrastructure projects.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an established engineer who is ready to step up - leading technical delivery, mentoring others, and acting as a trusted point of expertise within a collaborative, forward-thinking team.

Why This Role?

As a Senior Engineer, you’ll move beyond task delivery and into true project influence. You’ll help shape designs, guide junior engineers, and work closely with project managers and clients to deliver technically robust, sustainable solutions.

You’ll be empowered to challenge convention, drive continuous improvement, and contribute meaningfully to the success of nationally significant projects across residential, commercial, healthcare, education, and energy sectors.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Leading the technical delivery of highways and drainage designs on medium to large projects

Producing and checking drawings, calculations, and specifications to a high standard

Providing day-to-day technical guidance and mentoring to engineers and technicians

Coordinating design inputs and managing workloads to meet programme deadlines

Reviewing outputs to ensure compliance with standards, legislation, and best practice

Supporting client engagement and contributing to design discussions and solutions

Keeping abreast of regulatory changes and championing quality across the team

Requirements

Strong experience in highways and drainage design (roads, foul & surface water)

Proven background across multiple sectors (residential, commercial, industrial, etc.)

Experience producing technical reports such as Drainage Strategies, FRAs and O&M Manuals

Confident communicator with the ability to guide and influence others

Strong design software and Microsoft Office capability

A proactive, solutions-focused approach to engineering challenges

Full UK driving licence

Benefits & conditions

Competitive salary of £43,000 - £53,000

35-hour working week

8% employer pension contribution

Hybrid working with flexibility built in

Exposure to varied, high-profile UK projects

Clear progression routes within a national consultancy

Supportive culture that values innovation, sustainability, and collaboration

If you’re ready to take the next step in your engineering career and make a genuine impact, we’d love to hear from you.

RSK is an inclusive employer.
