Job description

As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer, you will work on varied private and public sector schemes, taking projects from initial concept through to detailed design. You will join a collaborative infrastructure team where you can strengthen your technical expertise, manage projects and progress your career.

Your next opportunity My client is an established engineering consultancy delivering infrastructure, transport and water projects. You will work alongside experienced professionals on multidisciplinary schemes, contributing to high-quality technical solutions and sharing your knowledge with graduates, technicians and engineers.

This Senior Infrastructure Engineer position provides significant scope for professional development. You will be encouraged to take greater responsibility for project delivery, client relationships, commercial performance and the development of junior colleagues.

What you will be doing You will: ·Produce civil infrastructure designs from initial concept through to detailed design. ·Undertake technical studies, inspections and surveys. ·Prepare technical reports, drawings and three-dimensional models. ·Deliver highway alignment, access, highway improvement and drainage designs. ·Use AutoCAD, Civil 3D and drainage design software to produce accurate technical work. ·Provide independent technical input on larger projects, with designs reviewed by senior colleagues. ·Manage smaller projects, including programme, budget and quality requirements. ·Supervise projects on site when required. ·Manage and support technicians, graduates and engineers within project teams. ·Work closely with transport and water specialists on multidisciplinary projects. ·Maintain regular communication with clients throughout project delivery. ·Identify opportunities for additional and follow-on work. ·Keep up to date with industry developments and share technical knowledge with colleagues.

Requirements

·Relevant experience within civil engineering and infrastructure design. ·Strong highway and drainage design capabilities. ·Practical experience using Civil 3D and AutoCAD. ·Knowledge of GIS and drainage design software, such as MicroDrainage. ·Knowledge of DMRB and Manual for Streets. ·Knowledge of highways and Water Industry Act agreements. ·Understanding of the Code for Adoption and SuDS design. ·The ability to manage design tasks, project budgets and delivery programmes. ·Strong written and verbal communication skills. ·A commercially aware and proactive approach. ·The confidence to work independently while contributing effectively to a wider team.

A BSc or BEng in a relevant subject would be beneficial. Chartered or Incorporated status with the Institution of Civil Engineers, or active progress towards professional qualification, would also be advantageous.
