DevOps Engineer - Level 3

Experteer Overview In this role you will design, build, and secure containerized software deployed to cloud environments, enabling scalable and resilient systems for critical defense applications. You will work with cross-functional teams to implement secure deployment patterns, automated testing, and auditable infrastructure. Your efforts will focus on safeguarding container platforms, improving CI/CD, and ensuring repeatable deployments in high-assurance settings. This is a chance to contribute to space-related programs and shape secure cloud-native architectures at Northrop Grumman. Compensation / Benefits * Design, develop, and maintain secure containerized software components for cloud deployment * Set up and manage Kubernetes (or equivalent) clusters including networking, security, and observability * Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines with security gates and automated testing * Conduct security assessments of containerized apps and cloud deployments; drive remediation * Develop and maintain infrastructure as code for repeatable deployments * Collaborate with software, systems, and security engineers on secure architectures and deployment patterns * Document designs, security controls, and operational procedures for cloud container platforms Tasks * 5 years with Bachelor’s, or 3 years with Master’s, or 1 year with PhD; additional experience may substitute for degree * Active SCI clearance or active TS clearance with ability to obtain SCI within a reasonable time before start * Experience developing, deploying, and maintaining containerized applications (e.g., Docker) * Experience with container orchestration platforms (e.g., Kubernetes, OpenShift) * Experience deploying software to cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP, or on-prem) * Experience developing CI/CD scripts to automate builds (e.g., Jenkins, Python, GitLab) * Experience with Linux administration and shell scripting * Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, Argo CD, Defect Dojo, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps) * Active Security+ Certification Key requirements * Relocation assistance * Health insurance * Life and disability insurance * Savings plan * Company paid holidays * Paid time off (PTO)
