ML Software Research Engineer

Experteer Overview In this role you help advance Apple’s ML innovations by building end-to-end ML pipelines, training workflows, and production-ready runtime inference for on-device deployment. You collaborate with ML researchers, SW/FW and data engineers to ship high-quality ML features across Apple products. You’ll work on Foundation Models, perception, and multimodal data, shaping how models run efficiently on devices. This is a hands-on, iterative role focused on delivering real-world ML solutions at scale. Compensation / Benefits * Design and maintain ML training pipelines and production inference infrastructure * Collaborate with ML researchers, SW/FW engineers, and data engineers to advance research and production efforts * Deliver end-to-end pipelines for model development, evaluation, and integration into Apple software * Develop production-grade software for model deployment and on-device optimization * Work with multimodal data (text, images, audio, sensors) and real-time sensing visualizations * Prototype and iterate rapidly to enable high-quality implementations Tasks * BS or MS in a relevant field and 3-5 years of ML software engineering experience or PhD in Computer Science/Computer Engineering or related fields * Proficient in Python and deep learning frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX) * Experience in building model training/evaluation pipelines in Python/PyTorch * Experience with on-device ML deployment and optimization * Proficiency in Swift, Objective-C, C++, or Go * Strong communication and collaboration skills * Experience with multimodal data and real-time sensing visualization * Proactive, self-driven, able to work in a collaborative environment Key requirements *
