Job description
A pharmaceutical client is seeking a Senior Microsoft Systems Engineer to lead the design, administration, optimization, and support of our enterprise Microsoft infrastructure. This individual will play a key role in managing our Microsoft ecosystem, cloud technologies, networking infrastructure, and virtual environments while ensuring the security, availability, and scalability of critical business systems.
The ideal candidate will have deep expertise across Microsoft 365, Azure, Windows Server environments, virtualization technologies, networking, and cloud platforms. This is a hands-on engineering role requiring both strategic thinking and technical execution and will be onsite in the Irvine office 2 days/week.

Requirements
10+ years of hands-on Systems Engineering or Infrastructure Engineering experience supporting enterprise Microsoft environments.
Strong Microsoft 365 administration experience, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and Entra ID (Azure AD).
Advanced Azure experience, including administration of Azure Virtual Machines, networking, storage, and hybrid cloud environments.
Experience managing and supporting Windows Server infrastructure, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP.
Strong virtualization experience with Azure VMs, VMware, Hyper-V, or other enterprise virtualization platforms.
Solid networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, routing, switching, VPNs, firewalls, DNS, and network troubleshooting.
Experience supporting hybrid cloud/on-prem infrastructure environments.
PowerShell scripting and automation experience.
Experience leading infrastructure projects, upgrades, migrations, and system implementations.
Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills with the ability to work independently.
Ability to work onsite in Irvine, CA two days per week
