Senior Application Developer

Experteer Overview As an Application Developer Senior, you will design, modernize, and deliver secure, scalable applications for statewide agencies within Indiana’s Office of Technology. You’ll drive AI-assisted development, modernization, and enterprise-scale software delivery, collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve engineering workflows. This role supports modernization initiatives and emphasizes secure, automated development practices. You’ll work on impactful projects that serve Hoosier taxpayers and help shape the state’s technology direction. Compensation / Benefits * Leverage AI-assisted development with GitHub Enterprise Cloud and Copilot for code generation, refactoring, testing, and documentation * Accelerate migration of legacy apps using AI-driven methods and ensure code consistency * Analyze technical debt and generate architectural drafts, tests, and secure-coding improvements * Apply AI-assisted remediation for accessibility, dependencies, and framework modernization * Design, build, test, and maintain apps using .NET, Angular, and SQL-based systems * Migrate legacy systems to modern platforms and apply standardized engineering patterns * Build APIs, integrations, and modular components aligned with enterprise architecture * Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps * Support infrastructure-as-code, deployment automation, and environment promotion processes * Contribute to automated workflows, reusable templates, and standardized development practices * Support onboarding, knowledge sharing, and process optimization to boost productivity * Assist in architectural discussions, design reviews, and modernization planning * Support portfolio modernization initiatives through repeatable patterns and AI-assisted workflows Tasks * Advanced full-stack development skills (C#, .NET, Angular, JavaScript frameworks, SQL, API design) * Hands-on experience with GitHub Enterprise Cloud Copilot for AI-driven development * Deep understanding of DevSecOps, secure SDLC, CI/CD, automated testing, and cloud-native engineering * Experience modernizing legacy systems and applying consistent standards across applications * Ability to collaborate across teams, provide technical leadership, and support large-scale modernization * Extensive knowledge of business applications within the scope of the work * Advanced knowledge of policies, standards, procedures, and techniques for application development * Advanced knowledge of programming across diverse OS and platforms * Ability to design, develop, and maintain scalable software applications * Excellent analytical thinking, problem-solving, and interpersonal/communication skills * Ability to work without/with reasonable accommodation * A degree is not required; at least 7+ years of relevant experience may be considered Key requirements * Medical plan options with RX * Vision and dental plans * Wellness rewards * Health savings account with employer contribution * 457(b) deferred compensation with employer match * Pension plan options (two)
