Director, Site Reliability Engineering

Experteer Overview In this role you will lead reliability, performance, and observability across a portfolio of Vertafore products. You will own SLIs/SLOs, incident response, automation, and CI/CD practices while guiding multiple teams to operational excellence. Collaborating with Product Development, Architecture, Cloud Operations, and Security, you bridge development and operations with a software-engineering mindset. You help scale systems from design to deployment and refinement. This is a chance to shape reliability for a high-growth SaaS business in the insurance domain. Compensation / Benefits * Define and enforce SLI/SLOs for flagship products and drive observability across app and infra layers * Oversee release engineering and toil reduction using CI/CD pipelines with GitLab, Jenkins, Ansible, LaunchDarkly; target 50% toil reduction * Manage error budgets to balance feature velocity with platform stability * Lead incident management with 24x7 on-call rotations and blameless postmortems * Collaborate with Cloud Ops on capacity planning, OS patching, and load balancing; align reliability with roadmaps and SLAs * Lead and mentor managers and engineers on automation, observability, and reliability best practices Tasks * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field * 15+ years in Software Engineering, SRE, DevOps, or reliability roles; 8+ years in leadership * Proven ability to apply software engineering principles to reliability and operations problems * Expertise in CI/CD, observability, and incident response * Strong AWS knowledge and experience with container orchestration * Experience leading reliability programs across multiple SaaS products * Experience architecting apps/infrastructure for high-growth cloud platforms * Experience in B2B SaaS with large-scale distributed systems * Proven ability to communicate and influence at team, peer, and leadership levels * Demonstrated ability to drive operational excellence through metrics and KPIs * (Preferred) Background in financial services, healthcare, or regulated industries Key requirements * VIP bonus * annual monetary bonus * quarterly bonus plans * bonus plans for Professional Services and Customer Success * drug-free workplace * equal employment opportunity
