Job description

Experteer Overview In this role you will help design, deploy, and sustain secure LAN/WAN networks for classified programs. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to meet mission requirements, design scalable network solutions, and guide incident response and security compliance. The position offers on-site work in San Diego and exposure to advanced network technologies within a premier defense contractor. You will shape network strategy and standards while addressing capacity, performance, and security challenges at scale. Compensation / Benefits * Maintain and operate LAN/WAN/VPNs and encryption technologies * Plan, design, configure, and implement LAN/WAN solutions to meet mission requirements * Lead configuration, testing, and rollout of routing/switching platforms and security appliances * Contribute to proposing technical network designs to management * Perform capacity planning and performance forecasting with recommendations to program managers * Develop and maintain enterprise-wide network standards, policies, and security documentation * Resolve incidents (WAN failures, security events) and coordinate with cross-functional teams * Coordinate third-party maintenance for network equipment * Provide second-level support for hardware, software, network, and telecom systems * Lead customer engagements, define requirements, and oversee implementation schedules * Implement and troubleshoot LAN/WAN technologies (VLANs, trunking, spanning-tree) * Support environments via ticketing systems (ServiceNow, JIRA) * Raise issues requiring senior-level attention * Lift and move equipment up to 50 pounds * Work after hours and weekends as needed * Note: on-site requirement; no telecommute option for this role Tasks * Master’s degree with 3 years of relevant experience, or Bachelor’s with 5 years, or Associate with 7 years, or High School with 9 years in lieu of degree * U.S. Government interim Secret security clearance (final Secret required) * Experience designing and maintaining LAN/WAN networks * Experience with routers, switches, and firewalls * Must meet 8140 requirements for CCNA and Security+ (certifications maintained during employment) * Strong knowledge of routing protocols and network design * Ability to work on-site in San Diego, CA Key requirements * flexible work arrangements * learning opportunities * friendly team environment * comprehensive benefits * 401k with matching * paid time off (PTO)
