Job description
Experteer Overview In this role you will help bring the Matter Compiler platform online by engineering the software that coordinates manufacturing hardware and processes. You will shape architecture decisions and establish engineering rigor to enable safe, scalable control of the fab. You’ll work across hardware, firmware, and software to transform physical constraints into reliable software behavior. This is an opportunity to influence how a cutting-edge micromanufacturing platform is designed and operated. Compensation / Benefits * Design and build distributed software systems coordinating state, timing, and behavior across manufacturing hardware * Develop and test sensors, actuators, and process controllers under real-time constraints * Create workflows bridging manual and automated steps and manage production/process handoffs * Evolve APIs to govern machine behavior across the fleet while converging architecture * Instrument systems for legible data and ML/AI-ready telemetry * Diagnose issues spanning software, firmware, and physical systems * Establish and model software engineering practices (testing, code review, CI/CD, documentation) * Improve system reliability via observability, fault handling, and graceful degradation * Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and process engineers to translate constraints into software behavior * Partner with leadership to converge competing architectural visions into a single direction Tasks * 5+ years building or debugging systems with external hardware dependencies * Track record of making and defending nontrivial architecture decisions * Strong Python skills and proficiency in at least one systems language (C++, Rust, or Go) * Solid grounding in distributed systems fundamentals * Experience introducing or maintaining CI/CD, automated testing, or observability tooling * Comfort operating with incomplete or contested specs and driving clarity * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or related field, or equivalent experience Key requirements * equity * benefits * salary range included
