Job description

As LGT implements its digital vision, LGT Digital Factory (DiF) acts as a strategic nearshore partner to deliver state-of-the-art client and employee IT front ends.To fulfil this mission, we collaborate closely with LGT business and IT units and third-party vendors.You can expect modern cloud-native platforms, mature DevOps and SRE practices, and a young, highly motivated fusion team of more than ten developers, designers, backend engineers, QA specialists and product managers.Together, we build secure, scalable digital products that empower financial professionals and enhance client engagement - and we want you to make sure they run reliably 24/7.Are you energised by running production systems for a private bank?Do you treat infrastructure as a product, automation as the default, and 3 a.m. pages as a signal that something needs to be engineered better?As our Senior DevOps / SRE, you will take ownership of the platform that our digital banking products live on - from cloud foundations and CI/CD to observability, security and incident response.On the operations side, you will design and operate our cloud landing zones on AWS and/or Azure, evolve our Kubernetes platform, expand our Terraform / IaC estate and modernise our CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI or Azure DevOps) with automated security gates and progressive delivery.You will define SLOs and error budgets, run our observability stack (Dynatrace, OpenTelemetry, Prometheus / Grafana), lead incident response and post-mortems, and harden our workloads against the threat model of a regulated financial institution.On the engineering side, you will stay close to the application code: profiling and tuning Java (Spring Boot) and Go services, optimising data access against SQL (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and MongoDB, and supporting our frontend teams (React, Angular or Vue.js) on build, delivery and runtime telemetry - wherever reliability, performance or security is at stake.Quality and security are shared responsibilities: you will collaborate with our managed test services, embed SAST / DAST / SCA and image scanning into pipelines, manage secrets via Vault / Key Vault / Secrets Manager, and ensure our practices stand up to the standards expected in private banking.You will use Git as the source of truth, conduct code reviews and mentor junior engineers - sharing best practices and helping the team adopt tooling that improves engineering and operational efficiency.Your profileTo be successful in this role, you should have:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related technical field.5+ years of relevant professional experience in DevOps, SRE, Platform or Infrastructure Engineering, ideally in financial services or another regulated industry.Proven hands?on experience with: a major cloud provider (AWS or Azure); Kubernetes in production; Terraform (or equivalent IaC); modern CI/CD tooling (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps or Jenkins); and Git.Solid command of observability (Dynatrace, OpenTelemetry, Prometheus / Grafana, logging stacks), SLI / SLO definition, on?call and incident management, and load / chaos testing.Hands?on coding ability in Python, Bash, Go or Java; able to read, debug and improve service code (Spring Boot, Node.js or similar) and database access (SQL and NoSQL).Strong security & compliance mindset: familiarity with secrets management, identity and access patterns, container/cluster hardening and frameworks such as CIS, NIST, ISO **, SOC 2 or equivalent regulatory expectations.Solid understanding of architectural principles, distributed systems and design patterns; analytical mindset to drive non?functional requirements across teams.Strong teammate mentality, resilience, social competence and communication skills; customer?focused thinking, drive for success and a high level of dedication.Language: advanced level of English (working language with QA, UX and group stakeholders).Nice-to-have / desirableExperience operating workloads in regulated environments (FINMA, BaFin, FCA, GDPR) or running PCI / SOC?audited platforms.Service mesh (Istio, Linkerd), API gateways and zero?trust networking.GitOps tooling (Argo CD, Flux), policy?as?code (OPA, Kyverno, Sentinel), supply?chain security (Sigstore, SLSA, SBOMs).Practical experience with agile ways of working;
