Job description

In this role, you will be the technical anchor for our agile Squads, working side-by-side with Data Scientists and Business Product Owners to architect scalable solutions. You will not only oversee what we build but revolutionize how we build it. You will champion an AI-first development culture, leveraging state-of-the-art Generative AI tools (e.g., Gemini, Copilot) to accelerate coding, automate testing, and push our “ways of working” to market-leading standards.

You will lead a core technical team of 2-4 engineers (with plans to grow) while acting as the primary solution architect within our cross-functional squads.

What you could expect as Technical Lead for Advanced Analytics & MLOps:

  • Act as the Technical Lead within cross-functional Squads. You will partner with Product Owners, our AI lead and Business Translators to turn business needs into robust technical designs.
  • Define the architecture, approach, and data flow for new solutions before a single line of code is written, ensuring feasibility and scalability.
  • “Own” the production pipeline. You are responsible for ensuring that the experimental models built by the squads are successfully refactored, hardened, and deployed into production.
  • Champion the use of Generative AI tools to supercharge the team’s velocity. You will establish workflows where AI is used for code generation, unit test creation, documentation, and refactoring.
  • Enforce a “Clean Code” culture using Python. You will set the standards for Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), modular design, and library management.
  • Constantly evaluate new libraries, AI assistants, and DevTools to ensure our tech stack remains on the bleeding edge of the industry.
  • Directly lead, mentor, and grow a team of 2-4 Data Engineers/DevOps specialists.
  • Oversee the design and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines, git workflows, and automated testing frameworks.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Software Engineering, Data Science or MLOps.
  • You don’t just know about AI; you use it daily to write better code faster. You are excited to teach a team how to leverage AI for 10x productivity.
  • This is a role for a “Fixer” and a “Builder.” You will have a tangible impact on how ZF operates globally.
  • Exposure to the highest levels of business and technology strategy.
  • Expert proficiency in Python (OOP, library building, package management) and data science, writing fast efficient and effective code.
  • Deep hands-on experience with Databricks and Azure architecture.
  • Strong background in MLops, CI/CD, containerization, and agile software delivery.
  • Experience leading or mentoring technical talent. You know how to conduct a code review that inspires rather than criticizes.
  • Fluency in English, Spanish a plus.

Benefits & conditions

  • You will sit at the right hand of the Head of Advanced Analytics, shaping the department’s reputation and trajectory.
  • A mandate to use the latest Generative AI tools to modernize how software is built.
  • A leadership role with a clear path to expand your team and influence.
  • You will be the architect behind the solutions that drive ZF’s data transformation.
