Job description

We are looking to hire our Head of Management Software. This technical leader will have a successful track record in the delivery of software products with proven experience in building, motivating and managing a strong team of software architect, web developers and software engineers. This role will manage the day-to-execution by development and architecture teams for all tasks required to drive completion of engineering projects on time and within budget. RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide high-level technical direction and management oversight to our management software development efforts.
Build and maintain an engineering team which involves designing, developing and maintaining network security management software.
Work across Software Engineering to build relationships with other teams. Use their feedback and understand their goals to build and prioritize a roadmap for your org.
Mentor and guide the professional and technical development of your team members. Help develop their careers, ensure they progress their skill levels, understand their work styles and apply that understanding toward helping them set and reach professional goals.
Lay out the technology architecture for both immediate and long term growth

Requirements

10+ years of relevant engineering work experience and 4+ hands-on technical management experience.
Experience leading managers and engineers at all levels, and you’re skilled at guiding them through their career development.
Technical background and are able to contribute to planning and design discussions.
Strategic thinker with the ability to formulate strategy, obtain staff/management buy-in and implement said strategy.
Leadership presence with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Personal creativity and drive; must have the vision and courage to break new ground and establish the highest standards of excellence, while taking prudent risks to achieve targets and goals.
MS/BS in Computer Science or equivalent. TECHNICAL QUALIFICATION: Experience with the following:
System software development
Central management software
Cloud infrastructure development
Big data environments
Network appliance development
Linux platform development
Client/Server, distributed systems development experience
Device and Configuration management
Web framework and applications
Programming skills C, Java, JavaScript
