We are looking for a Senior Data Engineering Manager to join our Big Data Engineering team and build world-class data solutions and applications that power crucial business decisions throughout the organization. You are an open-minded, structured thinker and seasoned leader, who is passionate about building systems at scale. RESPONSIBILITIES

You will build and lead a team of data engineers through hiring, coaching, mentoring, and hands-on career development
You will provide deep technical guidance in a number of aspects of data engineering in a scalable ecosystem
You will work with close counterparts in other departments as part of a cross-functional team, and nurture this culture in your team
You will both foster innovation and drive delivery
You will participate in code reviews/pull requests and design reviews

Requirements

5+ years of management within a technical organization
10+ years in the IT industry
Well-versed in data-driven and data-informed product development *
Strong understanding of backend software engineering, data engineering, and basic data science
Experienced in SQL, data modeling and ETL processes as well as building data pipelines
Experienced in Spark, Spark Streaming, Kafka
Experienced manager with a strong record of attracting and growing great engineers
Experience with solution building and architecting with public cloud offerings such as Amazon Web Services, Redshift, S3, EMR/Spark/Hive
Deep understanding of big data challenges and eco-system
Experience in test automation and ensuring data quality across multiple datasets used for analytical purposes
Proficiency in at least one high-level programming language such as Python
Have worked with Data Science teams or analytics teams
Graduate degree in Computer Science or similar
