Job description

Experteer Overview In this role you will lead the engineering team responsible for the Distribution Management System (DMS) and grid modernization efforts. You’ll guide implementation, maintenance, and enhancements to support safe, reliable energy delivery and integration of clean resources. You’ll collaborate across control centers, IT, and engineering to deliver impactful projects within a multi-state footprint. The position combines technical leadership with program management, stakeholder engagement, and ongoing modernization exploration. This is a high-impact opportunity to shape grid operations and technology strategy at a major electric utility. Compensation / Benefits * Lead a team of engineers to optimize the distribution system using DMS advanced functionality (AFR, LVM, Planned Outage Study, DER/Load Forecasting) * Serve as SME in real-time technologies (ADMS, SCADA, DER dispatching, energy storage, microgrids, Volt/Var Optimization, load shedding) * Coordinate with control centers, IT and engineering for DMS functionality and future enhancements * Direct specifications and configurations of DMS advanced applications (FLISR, LVM, AFR, Load/Generation scheduling) * Lead cross-functional teams across three states to implement grid modernization programs * Oversee development of project approvals (need, scope, tech solution, risks, budget, schedule) * Ensure rigorous project management to mitigate risks to schedule/budget * Investigate new tools/tech and assess relevance to operations control rooms * Develop tools to process data from multiple sources for engineering models/databases * Communicate grid modernization initiatives externally and participate in industry forums Tasks * Bachelor’s degree in Engineering * 8-10 years in technical/operational/engineering aspects of electric utility * Strong leadership and communication skills * Experience with grid modernization projects and cross-functional collaboration * Preference for supervisory experience Key requirements * competitive total rewards program * potential incentive * hybrid schedule eligibility * salary commensurate with experience
