Job description

Experteer Overview In this role you will lead the embedded firmware development for Schneider Electric’s next-generation products, driving technical excellence and cross-functional collaboration. You’ll own the firmware lifecycle from concept to production and shape the roadmap for AI-enabled, secure, and efficient systems. You’ll mentor a team of firmware engineers to deliver high-quality, reliable solutions for power products and EcoStruxure platforms. This is a pivotal role in advancing sustainability through innovative digital energy management. Compensation / Benefits * Lead and develop a firmware/embedded software team, including performance reviews and resource planning. * Own the embedded firmware lifecycle for Power Products from requirements to maintenance. * Define the firmware technology roadmap, including edge AI/ML and stack modernization. * Drive Agile/Stage-Gate processes and ensure targets on cost, performance, safety, cybersecurity, and time-to-market. * Lead design reviews, risk assessments, code quality audits, and failure mode analysis for embedded systems. * Mentor the team in AI development practices and incorporate new firmware technologies. * Collaborate with hardware, systems, test/validation, mechanical, and compliance teams to deliver integrated solutions. * Support obsolescence management, component selection, and long-term support for installed base. * Ensure designs meet North American and international standards (UL, NEC, IEC, cybersecurity). * Support reliability, environmental, functional safety, and cybersecurity testing with verification teams. * Champion sustainable firmware practices like power optimization and extended product life. Tasks * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field; Master’s preferred * 5+ years in embedded firmware development * 2+ years direct people-management experience in a regulated product environment * Proven success delivering complex firmware from concept to production in safety-critical or power electronics applications * Deep expertise in C/C++ for embedded systems, RTOS (e.g., FreeRTOS, ThreadX), bare-metal, and ARM Cortex-M/STM32 or equivalents Key requirements *
