Job description

Experteer Overview You will lead the design and development of core software components, libraries, and tooling for certifiable avionics platforms. You will shape system-level architecture and drive safety-critical software activities across DO-178 processes. This role collaborates with cross-functional teams to align technical solutions with civil and military certification standards and program objectives. You’ll influence open architecture initiatives and contribute to technologies that define future aerospace capabilities. Expect hands-on leadership, complex problem solving, and meaningful impact on flight-critical software foundations. Compensation / Benefits * Lead architecture and design of core software components, libraries, and tooling for avionics systems * Drive technical direction and execution for safety-critical software (DO-178) * Define and manage software requirements, decomposition, and traceability * Develop and verify software using modern C++ and OO design * Own DO-178 certification artifacts, including DAL-A deliverables * Lead and support certification efforts with customers and regulators * Conduct peer reviews to ensure quality and compliance * Collaborate with engineering, program leadership, and customers to align solutions with objectives * Travel as required (<10%) Tasks * 10+ years of relevant experience in STEM or an advanced degree with 7+ years * Proven experience in software architecture within aerospace or safety-critical environments * Hands-on experience supporting DO-178 software development and certification activities * Experience working with cross-functional teams to deliver complex solutions * Ability to engage customers and present to senior stakeholders Key requirements * Medical, dental, and vision insurance * Three weeks of vacation * Generous 401(k) plan with employer matching * Tuition reimbursement * Student Loan Repayment Program * Life insurance and disability coverage
