Sr. Systems Engineer

Experteer Overview In this role you will design, deploy, and maintain Windows, cloud, and virtualization systems to deliver secure, highly available IT solutions. You’ll operate in a hybrid AD/Entra ID and M365 environment, collaborate with government stakeholders, and drive upgrades and automation. The position emphasizes security, documentation, and cross-team coordination to sustain operations and modernization efforts. Compensation / Benefits * Administer and maintain Active Directory (AD) and GPOs; manage user accounts, permissions, and security groups * Administer Office 365 (Hybrid) including Exchange Online, Teams, and OneDrive for Business; lead upgrades and migrations * Manage virtualization platforms (VXRail/VMware/Horizon); ensure HA and DR * Oversee server maintenance, patching, backups, and issue resolution * Document systems, diagrams, and SOPs; generate system and project reports * Coordinate activities with contractors and government organizations; mentor junior staff * Use PowerShell for automation, reporting, and management of AD/ Windows environments Tasks * 10+ years IT experience in an Active Directory environment * Experience with M365 Hybrid environment (on-prem / M365) * PowerShell scripting experience * Expert in Active Directory/Entra ID administration in a hybrid environment * Experience with Okta (installation, configuration, migrations) * Certificate lifecycle management * Expert in Microsoft 365 administration * VxRail / VMware / Horizon management * System administration of Windows using PowerShell, automation * Manage Engine tools (ADManager/ADAudit/AD360) * BeyondTrust (Bomgar) experience a plus * Windows server deployment in AWS and VMware environments (Windows 2019/2022) * Documentation and SOP development * Integration testing and transition to production * Coordination with interfaces across contractors and government organizations * Active Directory/Entra ID; Microsoft 365 administration; Certificate lifecycle management (preferred) * VMware Horizon VDI or AWS Workspaces experience * MDM solution such as Intune * Strong written and verbal communications skills Key requirements *
