Network Engineer, Foundations and Support

Experteer Overview As a Network Operations Engineer on the Edge and Network Services team, you help ensure the reliability and scalability of Meta’s hyperscale networks. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional groups to plan and implement strategies that integrate new technologies and support existing ones across the operational fleet. You will identify root causes, drive process improvements, and advance automation to reduce Tier-1 faults. This role offers exposure to cutting-edge optical and IP networking in a fast-moving environment with a strong impact on global infrastructure. Compensation / Benefits * Investigate and resolve complex incidents on a global scale across reliability, security, and continuity domains * Drive change management for network, edge, and infrastructure security/business continuity issues * Improve operational efficiency and standardization across a large workforce delivering roadmapped projects * Lead cross-functional collaboration to align projects with business goals and stakeholder needs * Design and implement data-driven processes, policies, and tools to scale with Meta’s platform growth * Identify and implement automation opportunities to remediate Tier-1 faults via software * Analyze operational data to inform problem prioritization, capacity, and vendor performance * Communicate goals, progress, and lessons learned across scope and teams * Travel as required to support global operations Tasks * 4+ years of network operations experience with large-scale network infrastructure * Hands-on experience with optical/WDM equipment and associated test gear * Experience with terrestrial optical transport networks including DWDM and optical measurements * Familiarity with Cisco and Juniper routers/switches and Nexus data center switching * Experience with network hardware platforms from Ciena, Infinera, Nokia, Arista * Strong communication skills with vendors, service providers, and colocation partners * Subject matter expertise in Network Services topology, traffic analysis, and architectures * Experience in leading or guiding external vendors and suppliers * Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field or equivalent practical experience Key requirements *
