Network Engineer, Foundations and Support

Experteer Overview In this role, you will support the ENS team to enhance the reliability and efficiency of Meta’s edge and network services. You will collaborate with cross-functional groups to scope and implement strategies for integrating new technologies and improving operational support. You will address complex incidents, drive changes, and lead initiatives that scale with Meta’s rapidly expanding platform. This position offers the chance to shape processes, automate workloads, and influence global network operations at a world-class scale. Compensation / Benefits * Incident Response for global infra during major incidents and site events across edge, caching, and network infrastructure * Change Management to implement improvements impacting network security and business continuity * Drive Operational Efficiency and standardize processes across network delivery and maintenance * Team Leadership in a global, cross-functional context, setting goals and aligning roadmaps * Risk Management to identify and mitigate security, privacy, and continuity risks * Information and Data Assurance to ensure accurate operational documentation and data * Automation to identify and implement automation opportunities and drive lightweight code solutions * Data Measurement to define and track metrics for efficiency, quality, and cost * Communication of goals, progress, and lessons learned across scope * Travel as required (international and domestic) Tasks * Bachelor in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience * 4+ years operating, deploying, and designing large-scale network, optical, and/or physical layer infrastructure * Hands-on experience with optical/WDM equipment (optical amplifiers, coherent transponders, test gear) * 4+ years of network operations experience supporting large-scale service provider, datacenter, and/or enterprise networks * Strong communication with hardware vendors, service providers, and colocation vendors * Experience providing technical guidance to external vendors * Intermediate SME in Network Services (topology, traffic analysis, hardware platforms) * 4+ years in terrestrial optical transport networks (DWDM, optical testing, structured cabling) * Experience with physical infrastructure design (rack elevations, cabling, patch panels) * Familiarity with Cisco and Juniper routers/switches, Nexus data center switching * Experience with other major hardware platforms (Ciena, Infinera, Nokia, Arista) * Experience with data center design (rack elevations, cabling, power/cooling, facility infra) Key requirements *
