Job description

As a Software Engineer in Test, you’ll help push the boundaries of GoSpotCheck’s image recognition platform by building the testing infrastructure, deployment workflows, and release pipelines that deliver reliable features to our customers. We are constantly exploring new use cases for our customers and prospective customers. You’ll design and implement robust test automation frameworks and CI/CD pipelines for enterprise-scale products, solving the complex engineering challenges that come with ensuring quality at scale. You’ll collaborate with your Agile team to continuously improve our testing practices, release processes, and overall product quality!

What We’ll Achieve:

  • The testing infrastructure and release pipelines you create will ensure our product continues to scale and every release is thoroughly tested, validated, and stable prior to production.
  • We’ll continue to improve upon our service-oriented architecture, increasing confidence in the speed, dependability, and overall performance of our system through comprehensive automated testing.
  • We’ll evaluate and implement the latest and greatest testing tools, deployment strategies, and release management practices to achieve the best solutions for our business, leaning on your ability to quickly level-up and drive best practices.
  • We’ll sing your praises for the quality test coverage you build, the reliability of our deployment pipelines, and the valuable insights and mentorship you provide to the team.
  • At the end of the day, we’ll improve the way business is done out in the field, thanks to your commitment to building a quality, well-tested product delivered through reliable release pipelines., * Challenging and exciting work.
  • Fully remote collaboration format.
  • Opportunities for professional growth within a global team.
  • Necessary project equipment provided.
  • Access to internal learning and development resources., The FORM field execution platform serves as a digital assistant for frontline teams by guiding daily tasks, streamlining data collection, facilitating real-time communication, and providing leaders with real-time intelligence that drives faster actions and better decisions.

Requirements

  • You have 3+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a focus on test automation, deployment pipelines, and/or release management.
  • While you have worked in various environments, your impact will be felt immediately if you have solid experience implementing automated testing strategies (unit, integration, end-to-end, load/performance) within event-driven architectures using technologies such as Kafka, Pub/Sub, or similar.
  • You know how to leverage AI Tools to be more efficient and effective.
  • You have hands-on experience designing and building CI/CD pipelines and release automation.
  • You have experience with or a strong understanding of service-oriented architecture and how to effectively test across distributed systems.
  • You have expertise using and testing gRPC APIs and/or RESTful APIs.
  • You’re able to rapidly diagnose and troubleshoot real-world problems quickly and without a lot of context or support.
  • You find motivation in being involved in planning, architecture, and strategic decisions around testing and release strategy.
  • You have a strong sense of empathy for the customer experience - reliability and quality are all extremely important to you.
  • You are delivery oriented and understand the tradeoffs between complete and perfect.
  • When things break - and they will - you are eager, and able, to help diagnose, fix, and implement safeguards to prevent recurrence.
  • You enjoy being around your peers and see the value of strong collaboration processes.
  • Part of your excitement about being an engineer is the fact that you can learn new things every day.
  • You appreciate and align with our company values.

Beneficial would be:

  • Experience with Postgres, OpenSearch, Google Cloud, Kubernetes, Docker, and Agile practices.
  • You have deep experience building deployment and release pipelines (e.g., blue-green deployments, canary releases, rollback strategies).
  • You have familiarity with machine learning concepts and their practical applications, including testing ML-driven features.
  • You have workflow experience with a tool such as Temporal or Camunda.
  • You have experience with observability and monitoring tools (e.g., Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana) to validate release health.
