Job description

An experienced Senior Developer is needed with extensive GenTax expertise to support enterprise tax applications. The role works closely with the IT development team to design, implement, maintain, and optimize solutions across Motor Vehicle Title and Registration, Motor Vehicle Enforcement, Tax Processing, and Property Tax. The position supports maintenance, upgrades, and new development initiatives within the GenTax COTS platform., * Design, develop, and maintain software applications within the GenTax system using C# and SQL.

  • Write advanced SQL queries and implement SOAP and RESTful API services to support business requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues related to application performance, functionality, and integrations.
  • Identify problems or potential problem areas and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to recommend improvements.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience designing and developing solutions within the GenTax system.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in SQL and C# using Visual Studio.
  • Experience consuming, updating, and creating SOAP and RESTful API services.
  • Strong experience gathering functional requirements and translating them into technical specifications through system analysis and workflow/process design.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Solid understanding of business processes related to the GenTax system.
  • Experience implementing data conversion processes during software version upgrades.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to mentor team members of all skill levels.
  • IT Architect experience is a plus.
