Job description

We are working with a well-established, privately held software company in Irvine that is looking to add a Systems Engineer to own their AWS cloud infrastructure and support customer-facing SaaS applications in production. The environment is nimble, the task mix shifts with business priorities, and the right person will be able to operate independently without heavy hand-holding.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on AWS experience across core services including EC2, ECS, VPC, S3, IAM, CloudFront, and Route 53 supporting production or business-critical environments
  • Scripting experience in PowerShell or Python with the ability to write and maintain scripts beyond basic commands, along with Terraform experience for infrastructure provisioning and management in source-controlled environments
  • Solid networking background with the ability to troubleshoot production issues at the network level including VPCs, subnets, load balancers, DNS, and firewalls. Day-to-day networking work is largely static but the knowledge matters when things break
  • Containerization experience with Docker and ECS. The environment is Windows-heavy historically and transitioning toward Linux containers, but direct Linux administration is minimal so a strong Windows background is not a disqualifier This is a hybrid role based in Irvine with a minimum of 2 days onsite per week. They also offer full benefits, 401K with match and growth opportunities.
