Experteer Overview In this Senior Data Engineer role, you will accelerate the analytics transformation by designing, building and operating data solutions that support AI, ML and business insights. You will guide teammates, translate complex data into usable products, and collaborate across teams to reinforce data governance, security and quality. You’ll work on scalable data platforms and influence data strategy, enhancing the enterprise’s analytic capabilities. This is a chance to shape data-driven decisions at Travelers within a culture focused on innovation and collaboration. Compensation / Benefits * Build and operationalize complex data solutions and data cleansing/quality improvements * Design data solutions with new sources and consistent architecture across projects * Analyze complex data sources to determine value for analytics * Incorporate data governance, security, and quality standards * Act as data/tech SME for lines of business and educate users on data products * Perform data and system analysis to resolve defects and incidents of high complexity * Collaborate across teams to support delivery and user education on data products * Take on additional duties as assigned Tasks * Bachelor’s degree in STEM field or equivalent * Ten years of related data engineering experience * Hands-on experience with dbt (models, tests, snapshots, docs) * Experience building and operating pipelines with Apache Airflow and Dagster * Experience delivering data solutions in AWS (e.g., S3) * Strong data modeling and data product design focusing on usability and reusability * Experience leveraging AI tools to accelerate delivery and productivity * Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code (Terraform) and IAM/RBAC * Ability to design scalable, reusable data platforms * Solid cyber security understanding Key requirements * Health Insurance for employees and dependents * 401(k) company match up to 5% * Pension Plan fully funded by Travelers * Paid Time Off (min 20 days) plus holidays * Wellness program and mental health resources * Volunteer Encouragement and Matching Gift program
