Job description

Experteer Overview In this role you will contribute to space electronics and embedded systems by developing RTL/firmware for FPGAs and microcontrollers. You will work within a multi-disciplinary Space Tech team to deliver high-reliability, radiation-hardened firmware and test it in aerospace environments. You will collaborate across hardware and software domains to meet space standards and integrate with space communication interfaces. This is a mission-driven position at AeroVironment, focusing on scalable, robust space-level solutions. Compensation / Benefits * Develop and maintain RTL/firmware for general-purpose and mission-specific needs * Create firmware for peripheral interfaces and analog/digital converters * Develop and maintain serial links and interfaces (SpaceWire, SPI, CameraLink, 1Gb+ Ethernet, MIL-1553B) * Build and maintain automated FPGA firmware platform build scripts * Deploy firmware to physical devices and architect firmware for space electronics * Optimize embedded software for radiation-hardened and high-reliability environments * Conduct system integration, testing, and validation in simulated and aerospace conditions * Support compliance with space industry standards (NASA, ESA, MIL-STD) Tasks * Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or computer science * 2 years of professional experience designing using VHDL or Verilog * Ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance Key requirements * medical, dental, vision * 401K with company matching * 9/80 work schedule * paid holiday shutdown
