Data Center Operations Country Director

Experteer Overview In this role you lead Microsoft’s France Data Centers to deliver reliable, secure, and sustainable cloud infrastructure that underpins global services. You will shape strategy, drive operational excellence, and manage a geographically distributed team while partnering with regulators, suppliers, and stakeholders. You will steer safety, compliance, and growth initiatives to scale our French data center footprint and support Microsoft’s cloud ambitions. You will leverage data-driven decision making and finance stewardship to enable high performance and responsible operations. Pay / Benefits * Set strategic direction for the France DC Ops within the EMEA West & ME subregion * Instill safety, security, compliance, and operational discipline across all data center activities * Lead and develop a geographically distributed team with a focus on inclusion and growth * Oversee reliable IT and critical environment service delivery with defined availability and capacity targets * Drive continuous improvement for resilience, efficiency, and service excellence * Plan and oversee infrastructure growth, capacity, and resource readiness to expand cloud footprint in France * Lead major incident response, communication, and post-incident learning to reduce risk * Manage financial performance, CAPEX/OPEX planning, and long-range forecasting * Build and sustain partnerships with regulators, vendors, landlords, and governmental bodies * Collaborate globally to share best practices and drive innovation in data center operations Tasks * Bachelor in Engineering * Significant leadership experience in mission-critical operations (large-scale data centers or equivalent) * Proven track record managing large, distributed teams across multiple disciplines * Experience with data center infrastructure management and operational readiness * Financial acumen with multi-million euro budgets and investment prioritization * People development, succession planning, and cross-functional influence * Understanding of French labor regulations and safety requirements * Excellent communication and executive presence; fluent in French and English * Willingness to travel regularly within France * Background check and security screening requirements Key requirements *
