Interim Infrastructure Engineer (Endpoint) - Internal Only

As our IT Infrastructure Endpoint Engineer, you’ll play a key role in shaping and supporting the University’s modern digital environment. Working within our Digital, Data and Technology team, you’ll help deliver secure, resilient and innovative endpoint services that support students, academics and professional services colleagues across the University. You’ll take ownership of a diverse range of technologies, including Intune, SCCM, Autopilot, Active Directory, Entra ID and Microsoft 365, helping to manage and evolve our endpoint estate. From designing and maintaining device build standards to overseeing application deployment, patching, automation and security compliance, you’ll have the opportunity to influence how technology services are delivered across the institution. Alongside providing expert third-line support, you’ll contribute to infrastructure projects, service enhancements and strategic technology initiatives, working closely with the Lead Endpoint Engineer and wider Infrastructure Services team. As Interim Infrastructure Engineer (Endpoint) you will be an experienced IT infrastructure professional who thrives on solving complex technical challenges and delivering reliable, secure services that make a real difference to users. You will bring strong experience of endpoint management technologies such as Microsoft Intune, SCCM, Autopilot and Windows deployment services, alongside a solid understanding of systems administration, automation, and modern device management. Whilst working in a collaborative environment, combining deep technical expertise with a proactive, customer-focused approach. Whether you’re packaging applications, developing PowerShell scripts, managing operating system lifecycles or strengthening endpoint security, you take pride in delivering solutions that are robust, efficient and user-focused. You will be someone who enjoys balancing day-to-day operational support with longer-term service improvement and project delivery, with the ability to analyse complex technical issues, identify practical solutions and communicate confidently with both technical and non-technical colleagues
