Job description

Experteer Overview In this role you will design and develop modern graphics software for embedded automotive systems across current and future BMW platforms. You will optimize graphics stacks and GPU integration to deliver smooth in-vehicle visuals. You will build rendering pipelines and tools to validate graphics functions, contributing to the full software lifecycle from requirements to release. You will collaborate with UX, hardware, and system teams to shape premium in-vehicle experiences. This is a chance to impact how graphics power the next generation of BMW’s digital mobility suite. Pay / Benefits * Design and develop graphics software for embedded systems * Optimize graphics stacks (OpenGL ES, Vulkan, GPU driver integration) * Implement rendering pipelines and performance-critical graphics functions * Collaborate with hardware suppliers for GPUs and display controllers * Analyze and improve runtime performance, memory usage, and rendering latency * Create tools/frameworks for validating graphics functions across the software lifecycle Tasks * Proficiency with graphics APIs for embedded systems (OpenGL ES, Vulkan, EGL) * Experience with Android graphics architecture and Linux graphics stack (SurfaceFlinger, Hardware Composer, Wayland, kms, drm) * Understanding of GPU architectures, real-time constraints, debugging/profiling tools (RenderDoc, perf, Valgrind) * Several years of embedded software development/QA in automotive graphics * Familiarity with software architectural modeling, HMI frameworks (Qt, Kanzi, Unity, Unreal Engine) * Knowledge of ISO 26262 and CI/CD pipelines is advantageous * Fluency in English; German a plus Key requirements *
