Job description

We are adding a Junior AI Implementation Specialist to our team to help with a significant new project for a major German logistics firm. This role is about taking language models and automation tools and making them work inside the software that this logistics company uses to track shipments and manage inventory. Instead of building abstract models, you will be focused on the practical side of how AI interacts with actual business data. This is a full-time, permanent role and is fully remote, allowing you to work from your own space while coordinating with our distributed team. About Pixel Systems Pixel Systems is a small, remote software agency. We build the tools that teams actually use every day. We do not do flashy consumer apps or marketing sites. Instead, we focus on the practical stuff like admin panels, CRM integrations, and the database migrations that people usually try to avoid. Our clients come to us when they need to replace a sprawling spreadsheet with a real database or get their different software tools to finally talk to one another. We believe that working code is better than a perfect plan that never ships. Our approach is straightforward. We provide fixed quotes before we start, we do weekly demos, and we hand over everything (the code, the documentation, and walkthrough videos) when we are finished. We use reliable, well-tested technologies like Node, React, and Postgres because we want the software we build to be stable and easy to maintain., In this role, your primary task is to connect AI capabilities to the logistics firm existing systems. This involves moving data between platforms, cleaning up inputs so the AI can process them correctly, and writing the code that takes AI responses and puts them into the right database tables. You will be helping to automate the processing of shipping manifests and inventory logs, reducing the amount of manual data entry the logistics team has to do. A lot of your day to day work will involve working with APIs and ensuring that the data flowing through them is accurate. You will be working closely with our senior developers to ensure these new features are stable and do not break the existing infrastructure.

Requirements

We are looking for someone at the start of their career who is organized and enjoys the puzzle of making different software systems work together. You should be comfortable writing code that other people can read and maintain. Since this is an entry level position, we do not expect you to be an expert in every technology, but we do expect curiosity and a willingness to learn how these systems function. You should be okay with working on business tools that solve real operational headaches. Being able to explain your logic and why you wrote a piece of code in a certain way is more important to us than knowing every library by heart. Because we are a remote team, being able to communicate clearly through text and documentation is essential. Helpful Background While this is an entry level role, having some basic experience with our stack will help you get started. We primarily use Node.js and React, so familiarity with JavaScript is important. Helpful background includes:

  • A basic understanding of how databases work, specifically Postgres or other SQL based systems.
  • Experience using GitHub for version control and collaborating on code.
  • A basic grasp of how to interact with third party APIs using fetch or similar libraries.
  • Basic knowledge of Python, which is often used in data processing tasks.
  • Familiarity with structuring prompts or parsing JSON responses from AI models.
  • Experience writing clear, simple documentation for the code you create.
  • A background in computer science, information systems, or a related field of study.

Working at Pixel Systems Working here means you get to focus on building things that have an immediate effect on how people work. There are no layers of middle management and no long meetings about branding. We are a small team of developers and designers who prefer solving real problems over chasing the latest trends. This position is 100 percent remote, so you will need to be someone who can manage their own schedule. We value honesty and plain speaking. The pay for this role is attractive and competitive for an entry level position in the current market. Pixel Systems is a place for people who like to see their code in use. We avoid the drama often found in larger tech firms and focus on shipping reliable software for our clients. You will be working in an environment where your contributions are visible and your growth as a developer is supported by working directly on complex, real world problems. We prioritize stability and clear documentation because we know that the systems we build are the fundamental part of our clients operations.
