Job description
As a Junior UI Developer, you will be responsible for building and maintaining the visual components of our internal tools. You will work closely with our senior developers to translate design requirements into functional React components. The work is focused on clarity and utility: making sure a warehouse manager can find the right data point quickly or that a dispatcher can update a shipment status without friction. This role is fully remote, allowing you to work from wherever you are most productive. Your day-to-day work will involve:
- Writing clean HTML and CSS to build layout structures for internal dashboards.
- Developing and updating React components for our logistics client project.
- Connecting front-end forms to our internal APIs to ensure data is saved correctly.
- Cleaning up legacy UI code to improve performance and readability.
- Testing interfaces to ensure they work correctly across different web browsers.
- Documenting the components you build so other developers can use them easily.
- Participating in weekly demos to show our progress to the client.
Requirements
We are looking for someone who is organized and enjoys the process of building things that actually work. You do not need to be a master of every framework, but you should have a solid grasp of the basics. We value clarity and the ability to write code that others can understand easily. This is a paid position, and we offer compensation that is competitive for the entry-level market. We need you to have:
- A basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- The ability to follow a design mockup and turn it into a working webpage.
- A preference for simple, readable code over complex or clever solutions.
- Strong communication skills, especially through written text and video calls.
- The ability to manage your own time in a remote work environment.
- A curious mindset and a willingness to ask questions when you are stuck.
- An interest in how business software works behind the scenes.
Helpful background While this is an entry-level role, there are a few things that might help you get up to speed faster. If you have experience with any of the following, please let us know:
- Familiarity with React or similar JavaScript libraries.
- Experience using Git and GitHub for version control.
- Basic knowledge of how to fetch data from an API.
- Experience with CSS frameworks or styling libraries.
- A simple side project or portfolio that demonstrates your coding skills.
- Basic understanding of accessibility standards for web interfaces.
Working at Pixel Systems Working at Pixel Systems means you are part of a small team where your work is visible and useful. We do not have layers of middle management or long, unnecessary meetings. We trust our developers to manage their own schedules and focus on shipping quality code. Because we are a fully remote company, we rely on clear documentation and async communication to keep projects moving. We provide a straightforward environment where the goal is always to deliver value to the client. You will be paired with senior team members who can provide guidance as you grow your skills. Our culture is built on stability and mutual respect. We do not expect you to work late nights or weekends; we just want you to do your best work during the day and help us build software that our clients can rely on for their daily operations. We are a pragmatic group that values honesty and technical skill. If you prefer building tools that help a business run smoothly over working on flashy, short-lived projects, you will fit in well here. We focus on the fundamentals of good software development and provide a stable place for junior developers to learn the trade while contributing to meaningful client work.
About the company
Pixel Systems is expanding its development team to support a new project for a Berlin-based logistics firm. We are building the internal interfaces that their dispatchers and warehouse managers use to track freight movement and inventory levels. We need a Junior UI Developer to help us build these functional, high-utility dashboards. This is a chance to work on software that solves real operational problems rather than just building flashy marketing sites. About Pixel Systems Pixel Systems is a small, fully remote software agency. We focus on the practical side of technology. While other firms might focus on consumer apps or trendy social platforms, we specialize in admin panels, CRM integrations, and database migrations. Our clients come to us when their current spreadsheets can no longer handle their business data or when they need different software tools to communicate with each other. We believe that working code is better than a perfect plan that never gets finished. Our approach is direct: we provide fixed quotes, hold weekly demos, and hand over all code and documentation when we are done. We use reliable, well-tested tools like Node, React, and Postgres because we want the software we build to be stable for years to come. We are a team of experienced developers who prefer solving tangible headaches over chasing the latest industry trends.
